Bradley Manning-Who Is He?

After three years of reading about Bradley Manning, following his trial and, now, reading the analysis of his verdict I was taken aback by the news that he is to seek gender transformation treatment in a quest to become a woman. Bradley wants to be known as 'Chelsea Manning' from now on.

From being a controversial figure who challenged the narrative of 'nationalism'  he  is now presenting supporters and detractors with another thing to think about which is the last frontier in the sex-gender agenda - being lesbian, gay and bisexual may have become acceptable but transgenders have yet to become mainstream.

Bradley/Chelsea is a person to be reckoned with.  He has shown us that soldiers can act on their conscience, questioned the nature of modern day wars and has made us realise that there are other ways to be patriotic apart from quiet unquestioning obedience of a state's actions.  He deserves our prayers.
